it’s all for the coast

The systems that sustain life.

I’m Victoria Wood—documentary photographer and videographer, writer, and systems strategist living and working from my expedition sailboat along the Pacific Northwest coast. I’m neurodivergent and naturally systems-minded, which means I notice edges, overlaps, patterns and the friction and actions between systems. That’s where all of my work lives and begins.

I use writing, fieldwork, and media to help people understand—and fight for—the coastal systems that sustain life. I also use human-centred design, systems engineering, and operations design to help mission-driven organizations work with more clarity, intention, and alignment while reaching for big meaningful goals.

The work I do moves across layers, platforms, and timelines. It’s strategic, visual, technical, and emotional.

This website isn’t a portfolio. It’s a living reflection of my commitment to the protection, conservation, and restoration of the coast. Why the coast? Read this. And if you like it, subscribe or get in touch.

How all this began

In 2018, when I sold everything and bought a sailboat so I could spend every waking day on, and in, the ocean. What I never expected, is that I’d walk away from my career in tech so that I could dedicate my days to documenting, and advocating for, the ocean and my secret crush, the Pacific Northwest coastline.

Over 10,000 nautical miles and a few 6-month expeditions, I’ve learned from indigenous land guardians, shared fresh fish with bald eagles, fed myself on sea vegetables, watched humpbacks transit to their winter feeding grounds, and seen the pride in rural, coastal communities who want to thrive in partnership with the coast and it’s rhythms and bounties.

The ocean isn’t just where I live, it’s how I live.

A rising tide lifts all boats

Creative, regenerative, and ethical practices lead to long-term, resilient growth—for the environment, individuals, and communities. This is true of both conservation and business. And right now we need all hands on deck.

If these values are what guide you too, let’s pool our resources and double our impact.

6-Month Documentary Expeditions

CALL FOR SPONSORS

What: Every year, I embark on a 6-month expedition to capture high-quality photography and video of the region’s marine life and ecosystems, and then make that media available for conservation, education, and advocacy organizations via an open-access media library.

Why: For a conservation story to gain traction online, it needs compelling imagery—but affordable, high-quality media is out of reach for many grassroots organizations. To change that, I’m building the world’s largest open-access media library dedicated to protecting the Pacific Northwest coast.

Why me: With experience in photography, video, and content marketing, plus 6-years of sailing some of the most challenging and remote waters in the Pacific Northwest, I have the skills and opportunity to build something that multiples and compounds beyond just myself.  I’m building this library because to help others do their best work. I fund the production of the library myself, investing my personal time, resources, and energy into the boat and the gear needed.

To continue to scale this project, I need your support.

Sponsoring an expedition means:

  • Directly funding critical biodiversity documentation – Expanding our visual record of the Pacific Northwest before it’s too late.

  • Amplifying conservation efforts – Providing open-access media that fuels research, advocacy, and public awareness.

  • Aligning your brand with real impact – Partnering with a project that’s driven by action, not just words.

  • Gaining meaningful visibility – Featured branding in expedition content, social media, and outreach.

If your brand is committed to sustainability, exploration, or ocean conservation, let’s talk. Together, we can make sure this coastline—and its incredible biodiversity—has a fighting chance.

Authentic Content From The Field

CALL FOR COLLABORATORS

I don’t do staged adventure. Every year, I spend six months sailing the Pacific Northwest, documenting biodiversity and the changing coastline in real time. The gear I use, the brands I trust—they have to work in the field, not just look good in a studio.

I partner with brands that align with ocean advocacy, sustainability, and exploration—companies that want more than just logo placement. Whether it’s through brand ambassadorships, social media takeovers, or conservation-driven campaigns, I create compelling, field-tested storytelling that connects with people who care about the planet.

Opportunities include:

  • Brand Ambassadorship – Representing your brand through compelling expedition content.

  • Social Media Takeovers – Exclusive behind-the-scenes expedition updates on your platform.

  • Giveaways & Campaigns – Engaging audiences with conservation-focused initiatives.

If you’re looking for marketing fluff, I’m not your person. But if you want real-world exposure, high-quality media, and a partnership that actually means something—let’s talk.

Gear & Equipment Sponsorship / R&D

CALL FOR SPONSORS

What: Every year, I embark on a six-month biodiversity documentation expedition across the Pacific Northwest, capturing high-quality imagery and video of marine life, remote coastlines, and fragile ecosystems. This work requires gear that can withstand salt, storms, UV, and constant exposure to my rugged life in the elements.

By sponsoring my expedition with equipment, your brand gets:

  • Real-World Testing – Your gear in action in extreme marine environments, with field-tested feedback.

  • High-Quality Media – Professional photos and video featuring your products in use.

  • Authentic Brand Exposure – Featured mentions in expedition content, social media, and outreach.

  • Direct Alignment with Conservation – Showcasing your commitment to sustainability, adventure, and ocean protection.

I’m looking for partners in marine, outdoor, photography, and tech brands who want to be part of a mission that matters.

Let’s talk about how your products can support one or more of my missions—and get seen by a passionate audience of adventurers, conservationists, and ocean lovers.

Tools For Grassroots Conservationists

CALL FOR SPONSORS

What: I am building two free courses designed to give individual conservationists and small organizations access to tools and knowledge usually reserved for big organizations with deep pockets.

  1. foundations of high-impact digital marketing

  2. foundations of high-impact operations management

Why: Most conservationists are people with a passion. But passion alone isn’t enough to go up against well-funded corporations or government policies.

Why me: Both courses will cover the essential concepts, principles, and best practices I have used to build, ship, and market 12 products in 7 businesses across 6 industries including tech, aerospace, eco-tourism, journalism, and hospitality. Each course will be fully funded by 1 or more brand partner, ensuring that grassroots organizations can access this training at no cost.

Sponsoring a course means:

  • Genuine Impact – Your support fuels real-world change for organizations protecting our oceans.

  • Authentic Brand Alignment – Show your commitment to sustainability and grassroots action.

  • Exposure to a Passionate Audience – Scientists, conservationists, and ocean advocates who care about ethical brands.

  • Custom Collaboration – Work with me to integrate your mission into the course in a way that feels natural and meaningful.

Your brand isn’t just slapping a logo on a project—it’s directly empowering the people on the frontlines of conservation.
